Frequently Asked Questions on Dryrobe

Is a Dryrobe suitable for cold-weather activities?

Absolutely! Dryrobes are specifically designed to provide insulation and protection in cold and wet conditions. To put the dryrobe® Advance to the test, MMU Institute of Sport, a global leader in the academic study of sports science, undertook an independent research study to investigate the effects of wearing a dryrobe® Advance after cold water immersion.

Their results show that wearing a dryrobe® Advance after getting out of cold water can have significant benefits, including helping to lower heart rate and increase skin temperature, as well as improving thermal comfort and thermal sensation levels, demonstrating that participants felt warmer and more comfortable when wearing the dryrobe® compared to other conditions.

Can I use a Dryrobe as a coat?

While some people use Dryrobes as outdoor jackets, they are primarily designed as changing robes. They are bulkier than typical coats and optimized for warmth after activities.

In tests, the back2skin™ dry time of the dryrobe® Advance is significantly faster than our leading competitors. Meaning you can get in and out of the water multiple times a day without it ever feeling damp.

          Is a Dryrobe waterproof?

How often do you wash a dryrobe?

Your dryrobe does not need to be washed regularly. If it gets covered in mud or sand, try shaking it off or cleaning it with a damp sponge. Due to the Dryrobe’s waterproof outer shell fabric washing should be limited as much as possible, as the process could age the garment, the same as with any other outdoor waterproof clothing.

Do they do female and male dryrobes?

No, Dryrobes are unisex and only measured from size and height. The design is versatile and loose-fitting, making it suitable for people of all genders.

                Do they size big?

Yes, Dryrobes are intentionally designed to fit generously. This oversized fit provides ample room for changing underneath and ensures comfort when layering clothing. Some people find that the roomy fit runs larger than expected, so it's often recommended to check the size guide, as if you're between sizes, you might prefer sizing down for a less baggy feel.

                Why are dryrobes more expensive?

The waterproofability of the dryrobes is a higher level than other robes due to the outer material used and waterproof seams. The company is also a B corp and as such they are slightly more expensive as they make them sustainably using recycled materials for the fleece and outer layer. Dryrobes also have a scientific design behind them, as the original changing robe they have a great shape and material that can’t be beaten and it is why you see them supporting and sponsoring professional athletes. For the quality and longevity of this product, we think that the price is fair as it does exactly what it says it does.
