SPRINT – Fastest flat water inflatable board.

Flat water races on an inflatable is having a revamp with the Sprint. Like it’s composite counterpart, the Airline Sprint is the fastest board in flat water conditions.

The narrow nose cuts through the water surface, and the centre of balance sits behind the middle of the board to provide greater acceleration. The response sensation you expect from a race board is ensured by the patented free-flowing aramid cable that acts as a spring when under tension and the board is inflated.

Increased stiffness is guaranteed through a carbon bottom and deck twin stringers, combined with woven dropstitch and fusion lamination the lightweight and stiffness of the Sprint is unmatched. The Sprint Airline is equipped with the standing EVA side trays to give you extra control and balance when rail steering and in chop. The Sprint also has added features such as edge release technology for drag reduction, beach start carry handles and FCS mounts for tracking devices, this is the board for serious performance.

What Sprint is right for me?

14’0” x 24” – The fastest inflatable race board that is also insanely lightweight. Ideal for flat water racing, and as the narrowest in the range, requires high skill to use at a performance level. Incredible speed and acceleration.

14’0” x 25.5” – This model is fast becoming a favourite. 25’5” wide provides enough stability to be in control when conditions get choppier, yet it is fast and tracky to cover distance quickly and efficiently. The carbon stringer in the bottom and the narrow tail provides extra stiffness, making you question even the option of a hard board.

14’0” x 27” – The widest outline model provides the added stability, allowing you to conserve the energy for balancing into maximising your paddle power. Without compromising on stability, the narrow tail allows for easier and faster turns around the buoy.

14’0” x 29” – At 29” wide this is the most stable board in the range, combined with the EVA standing tray you get extra stability and control in the choppy conditions. This board can even double up as a fast touring board, as with a wide tail section and a rider weight of up to 125kg, you can carry some luggage for expeditions.

This year with Starboard Inflatables, the package comes with the 3 piece Starboard Lima L 3 piece paddle.

Another bonus with buying a Starboard paddleboard is that they have a great environmental background and incentive as a Certified B Corporation. When purchasing a board with Starboard, they will plant 3 Mangrove trees (they draw down 3 x 336.5 kg CO2, more than 1 ton, over 25 years and this is more than 10X the board’s total carbon emissions) and they will pick up 1.1kg of ocean plastics!

New for 2024 -

NEW HIGH NOSE ROCKER

The new nose rocker of the Allstar Boards has been increased to perform better in choppy conditions as well as in downwind races. It also keeps the board from pearling when riding smaller waves.

Included on the Deluxe boards is the new Drop Fin Box. The new molding of the fin box creates 50% less drag on the board and 10% reduction in weight.

What does Deluxe Single Chamber mean?

Starboard offer a variety of constructions to their boards. The Deluxe range is their most advanced method with added stiffness to the board to compete along with hard paddleboards.
